However Erode turmeric marketplaces noticed minimized arrivals, higher sales had been recorded on Thursday.

“On the next working day of the opening of the market, the arrivals decreased considerably on Thursday. Only 225 bags arrived as versus on Thursday 722 on Wednesday. There is good demand of getting by the traders. But the farmers have introduced decreased quantity. Only number of bags of aged turmeric arriving for sale and the farmers picked good high quality amongst the new turmeric and quoted the price,” stated RKV Ravishankar, President, Erode Turmeric Merchants Association.

At the Erode Turmeric Merchants Association sales lawn, finger turmeric was offered at ₹6,389-six,819 a quintal and root range at ₹5,300-six,119. Of the arrival of 161 bags, 90 had been offered. At the Regulated Internet marketing Committee, finger turmeric was offered at ₹5,939-six,606 and root range at ₹4,806-six,239. All the 64 bags kept for sale had been offered.
