Atos and the Institute of Data Science (IZUM) in Maribor, Slovenia, today announce that the initial EuroHPC supercomputer is now operational. This is the ‘Vega’ supercomputer, centered on Atos’ BullSequana XH2000 architecture, which is now mounted following a start-up ceremony hosted by IZUM with the Primary Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Janez Janša, in attendance, with each other with the Govt Vice-President of the European Fee Margrethe Vestager, the Minister of Education, Science and Activity Dr. Simona Kustec and the Govt Director of EuroHPC Joint Undertaking Anders Dam Jensen.
Vega, the largest supercomputer in the country, is centered at IZUM, a community infrastructural institution and analysis group established by the Authorities of the Republic of Slovenia.
