Amit Shah visits cell in Port Blair where Veer Savarkar was imprisoned

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday visited the mobile wherever Hindu Mahasabha chief Vinayak Damodar Savarkar was imprisoned at Cellular Jail in Port Blair, Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Less than the ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’, he earlier now paid floral tributes to independence fighters at the mobile jail of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. At the location, the Union Minister paid tributes to Veer Savarkar.

Shah is on a 3-day pay a visit to to Andaman and Nicobar Islands from Oct 15-Oct 17.

Tomorrow, Shah will carry out an aerial survey of Rani Laxmibai Island, Shaheed Dweep Eco-tourism undertaking, Swaraj Dweep drinking water aerodrome and other advancement jobs. He will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of a variety of advancement jobs of Andaman and Nicobar Islands from the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Island.

On Oct 17, Shah will show up at evaluation conferences on the stability and advancement of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
